Missions
Felton-Viola UMC is a mission-driven church. We have some ongoing missions, and a variety of monthly missions throughout the year.

Monthly Missions
Clothing Closet
Every third Wednesday from 8am-12pm, we open our doors to give clothing to those in need.
We serve about 50 people each month. In the winter, we host an annual Coat Giveaway. Stop by if you are in need of clothing or would like to volunteer!
The Felton Viola United Methodist Church Clothing Closet has a specific need for infant and children’s clothing. We have a very small infant clothing inventory. You can leave donations of any clothing and accessories in the garage behind the church at any time.

Food Distributions
We collaborate with the Food Bank of Delaware and the Lake Forest Church Association to help with local monthly food distributions for seniors, and special holiday distributions. We serve about 110 seniors from the Lake Forest district each month. To sign up to receive food, contact us for an application.
The Lake Forest Church Association also runs and supports the Lake Forest Food Pantry in Harrington. As a member of this association of churches, we donate food to, financially support, and send volunteers monthly to work at the pantry.
UMCOR
As a congregation, we contribute to the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), which is part of the Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church.
Financial and material contributions to UMCOR from our congregation have gone to help victims of wildfires, hurricanes, tornados, and other disasters.

world and as a source of hope and healing for those left most vulnerable. Learn more at https://umcmission.org/umcor/

March 2025
Camp Pecometh is located in Centreville, MD and was founded in 1946. Their mission is to provide sanctuary for Christian hospitality and programming that promotes God-inspired, life changing experiences through camp and retreat ministries. Our offering goes towards ongoing operations to keep the camp running smoothly, “camperships” to provide camp scholarships to campers in need, facility upgrades to maintain and improve the campground, and future preparations to ensure Pecometh is ready for generations to come. Pecometh doesn’t only host children’s summer camps, but is also an event venue for adult Christian retreats and workshops throughout the year. Their website is https://pecometh.org/

Fellowship of Christian Athletes
April 2025
FCA’s mission is to see the world transformed by Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes. You can find them online at https://www.delawarefca.org/
One of the 536 Fellowship of Christian Athletes camps in the U.S. is held right here in
our backyard at Lake Foret High School where many of our local youth attend as
campers and are volunteer counselors.
While we don’t have any youth who attend our church we can reach and bless our these
young people through this organization. For many years, we purchased the Bibles for
the program. Recently, we have provided lunch one day. It is my hope that you will
consider supporting this wonderful mission project.
I am personally inviting you to attend this year’s camp between June 17-20, 2025, at
Lake Forest and see for yourself the power that FCA has on our local youth.
